Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Lanterns & Blossoms CNY decor at Leisure Mall

Happy Chinese New Year!

Tried to catch some shots of the lion dance that was taking place in my aunt's neighbour's house. Lion dances still mesmerize me as much as they did when I was a little kid (and used to go cycling around the neighborhood with my friends trying to find performing troupes)... oh and the fire crackers too!

Momma's got a new set of wheels...

Say hello to my new baby - a chiffon green (tho it looks more grey) Persona Elegance, nickname yet to be decided...

p/s: we got the car more than a week ago, lol... I just got around to taking a shot of it...

Cuz Thil's Wedding.

Weddings of a close friend/family always have a way of eliciting excitement doesn't it? After months of buzzing excitement, cuz Thilaga got hitched yesterday in a traditional Ceylonese wedding at Rasah Amman Temple in Seremban. And... the Thambiah family welcomes another to their fold.

What I miss about life in Sydney/Marsfield...

1. Having a fully-stocked supermarket like Woolies just across the street (yes, literally 2 mins away from my front door)
2. Proper bus/train timetables at the stops so you are not left guessing when the next bus will be and they're mostly on time... also a wonderful website like 131500 to plan your trip times and routes...
3. Having a fleeting conversation with random nice people you meet while in the train/waiting to cross the street etc - without feeling that you're about to be sold a sales pitch :P...
4. Okay, yes, even the "wild"life - possums, rabbits, parrots, cockatoos, bats - all that just in my backyard.... and NO CATS... that was a big plus!
5. A shopping centre, movie theatre and train station walking distance from home...
6. Properly stocked public/university libraries where you can borrow all the latest books/dvds for FREE (shout out to MQ library for its amazing DVD collection that covered everything from tv shows to classics to comedy... and Chatswood library for the novels/biographies)
7. Lovely parks to stroll in - also walking distance from home... so yes, not having to get into a car and drive just to be able to walk in a park is highly missed...
8. Not getting mowed down at the Zebra crossing - cars that actually stop for you instead of hitting the accelerator...
9. Clean, dry public toilets at most places - i think the only exceptions i found to this rule was places where busloads of Asian tourists went...
10. Community Colleges/centres where you can take all sorts of affordable classes like languages, art, dance etc...
